Tradition has it that, in days gone by, travellers and passers by would gather at the surface of Lime Kilns in order to benefit from the warmth emitted from the fires deep below the ground. They would enjoy the hospitality for three or four days before moving on. In keeping with traditions of the country pub, a selection of carefully chosen real ales, organic cider and locally brewed lager can be supped at the bar, by the fire, in the garden or at the table. And then there’s the food! Simple, seasonal and soulful, freshly prepared using high quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible.
