Grand Central offers a scintillating menu of great American classics including steaks, burgers, ribs, quesadillas and hot dogs. This American-style bar and grill is one of the largest eateries in Ipswich, seating 280 guests across themed dining and bar areas. Grand Central brings the ultimate American dining experience to The Waterfront. The restaurant is packed with interesting things to look at – be it the bar, emblazoned with the names of cocktails, the graffiti wall art, or the quirky stickers and signs. The menu has been developed to ensure it is as authentic as possible, including American grill and Tex-Mex staples, while incorporating new trends from across the pond. The majority of the menu is big, burly portions (as you’d expect) but there is also a weekly changing specials menu with lighter bites.

We normally love eating here but this time we were very disappointed with service and food, staff weren’t trained properly on menu and didn’t know what they were doing and food quality and portion size wasn’t great too.

4 of us booked on Saturday around 1900. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. plenty seats around and for all of the time we were there. We left around 2100. Service was ok, staff generally helpful, but our disappointment was really on the food served. The starter filled skins was a pathietic excuse , a golf ball sized potato cut in half...... the descriptions of the burger one of our party had “dude v food” was a bit lacking in quantity, the dude won easily, don’t assume this a big portion, no skin on fries for any of us either despite the menu saying so.....just looked like normal chips to us.. and the ribs were on the small side also. Not sure what was going on, but we did mention these things at the time. We’re not looking fof huge portions here trust me, but we generally left feeling the whole thing could have been a lot better. We’ll give this place a miss next time and would probably not recommend this branch to others .

We visited Grand Central (Ipswich) yesterday 18th October 2018, our first visit. We were very impressed by the staff and the quality of our meal. Definitely will visit again.

Visited Grand Central previously but found current menu uninspiring. The quality of the food was poor. My wife and I had the chicken burger which was overcooked and dry, my son and his girlfriend the quesadilla which had no taste. The manager did take of the cost of my wife and my meal, but the bill originally included someone else's drink. Very disappointed will not be returning.
