Grand Central offers a scintillating menu of great American classics including steaks, burgers, ribs, quesadillas and hot dogs. This American-style bar and grill is one of the largest eateries in Ipswich, seating 280 guests across themed dining and bar areas. Grand Central brings the ultimate American dining experience to The Waterfront. The restaurant is packed with interesting things to look at – be it the bar, emblazoned with the names of cocktails, the graffiti wall art, or the quirky stickers and signs. The menu has been developed to ensure it is as authentic as possible, including American grill and Tex-Mex staples, while incorporating new trends from across the pond. The majority of the menu is big, burly portions (as you’d expect) but there is also a weekly changing specials menu with lighter bites.

A fun evening out. The food with nothing to write home about but the service was exemplary; they really couldn't do enough for us

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime. Very quiet in restaurant. Good friendly service. Server very knowledgeable about menu and looked after us well. All food really good.

We waited ages to be served then ages for the drinks one of which was wrong and then one of the food ordered came without the corn it should have had. Then to top it all a hen party was seated next to us. Shall not be returning any time soon.

Visited last night for dinner with friends . We eat out a lot and always try to give fair reviews . The place wasn’t anywhere near full , but 15 minutes later we had to ask if they could take our drinks order . 3 of us had burger mains , £16 each , so quite pricey . My wife ordered a steak , but it come without the peppercorn sauce she’d ordered and also the onion rings . However , when she tried to eat the steak , it was so full of fat and just too chewy to eat . They took it back and she reordered a burger . The bill came and still had the steak , sauce and rings on it , so after complaining , they knocked it off the bill and a bit more for goodwill . Not a great experience for us and far too exspensive, but could be a nice place with a bit more thought , as it’s in a nice location near the harbour .
