Sam & Rachel - the taste & face of the 'new' GEORGE
Sam and Rachel were certainly thrown in at the deep end when they took over (single handed) management of the GEORGE on one of the busiest nights of the year in 2017, but with their many years of experience they were like ducks in water and everyone was served.
From then to now they have both become the taste and face of the GEORGE Winslow, it is them we have to thank for the reputation the pub now has as a destination venue ~ great service, an amazing selection of drinks and outstanding food. What more can you ask for?.... Well … to let them do more of the same...
It may have started over a couple of drinks one New Year's Day but a great group of like minded locals have come together to work with Sam and Rachel to let them do just that. An opportunity arose to take over the lease and run the Pub & 'Dining Room' independently. Taking longer than anyone anticipated we are finally there.
We offer a tempting seasonal menu that features a range of dishes, freshly prepared daily in our kitchens, using only the finest ingredients sourced locally wherever possible. From hand-made burgers, amazing steak, stone baked pizza's and seasonal specials to tempting Sunday roasts, slow cooked pork belly and devilish deserts you are sure to find a meal that gets your mouth watering.
